Happy end of August to you all. It has been an extremely busy few months for us with lots of behind the scenes development, a number of new features, and quite a few new users!
We’ve added several new features that we think you’ll find particularly useful. Among them is a new field called “Web Links”, which you can find below Relationships. Here you can add links to websites that are relevant to your entry- you can use it for sites that you’d like to refer to for additional research or perhaps for similar items you’ve found on the web.
For those of you that are Museum users, you’ll see a new section called, “Lexicon.” In this area, we’ve included Chenhall’s Nomenclature 4.0 in a fully searchable format. Over time, we expect to include additional controlled vocabularies. Under Lexicon you’ll also find fields where you can add your own search terms to aid in finding the entry.
On September 7, we will be participating in Pinole Historical Society’s “Make History Happen” event. Come and join us there to learn how the Pinole Historical Society is working to transform the historic Faria House into the Pinole History Museum. If you happen to be in the San Francisco Bay Area on the evening of the 7th, please come by and learn a bit of the history of Pinole! You can find more information on the event here.
The last few months have brought us a lot of new early access users and we welcome all you new folks. We appreciate your willingness to join our group of early access users, and as such, we ask that you provide us with your comments and suggestions. You are helping to make CatalogIt an even better product as we progress towards our official release.
