Principal of Barbara Henry & Associates. Barbara is devoted to transforming museums into cultural partners embraced by their communities. Her work focuses on organizations achieving their public goals in an environment of increasing change, complexity, and ambiguity. Barbara’s expertise spans community engagement; advisory councils; experimental scalable projects; collaborative programmatic and education initiatives; and strategies for institutional resilience and transformation.

Kathleen McLean

Principal of Independent Exhibitions, a museum consulting firm specializing in exhibition development, interpretation, design, programming, and strategic planning. Since 1974, McLean has conceived, designed, and developed a wide range of exhibitions for public audiences in museums of history, art, and science, as well as interdisciplinary and children’s museums. Many of the exhibitions she has developed focus on social issues, public participation, and public response.

Evelyn Orantes

Principal of Evelyn Orantes Consulting, Evelyn is dedicated to creating experiences that connect people and celebrate the uniqueness of communities. She is informed by her commitment to equity and diversity and by her bilingual and bicultural experiences. Evelyn’s process emphasizes collaborative, visitor/user centered, accessible, inclusive and participatory practices. These projects are designed through co-creation and bridge a wide array of disparate stakeholders to create compelling exhibitions and programs in and out of museums.

Joy Tahan-Ruddell

Director of Museums & Collections for CatalogIt, an innovative collections management system for documenting the story of things.  She works with museums of all sizes to help implement their new collections management system. Joy specializes in helping museums build capacity through creative problem solving and determining scalable solutions and has extensive knowledge and advanced understanding of national standards to help with any collections conundrum.
